Jason K. Brown

15 years of experience serving customers

Today

Today Jason works as network support agent, for customers in the Mechanicsville, VA area. He also volunteers as a network manager and IT support for Broadus Memorial Baptist church. While at Broadus, Jason has overseen major system migration projects, to bring them up to speed with current technology.

His primary focus has always been identifying simple solutions to complex problems, system security, and user experience and education. It’s not good enough to just solve a problem. It’s his responsibility to share what he knows with others, to make a safer Internet for everyone.

Starting out

Jason started his career doing freelance work for friends and family. Thanks to the support and patronage of his two loving parents, Jason was able to build his experience as the network/computer support tech for their small business, Roger Brown’s Garage.

Early Career

In 2006 Jason was given an opportunity to serve more customers in Culpeper, VA, when he began work at Windstar Technologies. Windstar gave Jason the foundation and opportunities he needed to hone his skills for the next phases of his life.

The Next Step

After leaving Windstar, Jason was brought on as a Network Analyst for Virginia Broadband. While there Jason’s focus was on maintaining signal and service quality for almost 200 broadcast towers, spread across Virginia. Also while with Virginia Broadband, Jason played key roles in overseeing the deployment of a vast wireless network project at Fort Lee, for the Boy Scout Jamboree.

In addition to his duties overseeing the wireless network, Jason was also in charge of developing and deploying a company-wide notification system, to give employees a central place to report outages and speed issues. He also was the sole developer of the database initially used to organize all the towers by region and what equipment they hosted.

While at Virginia Broadband, Jason was also in charge of maintaining a system of monitoring and alert servers, that ensured any outage was detected by our staff before our customers.

Most recently

Most recently Jason was employed with Archer Integration, in Glen Allen, VA. While at Archer, Jason was able to learn more about Windows and its server environments. It was here that Jason was really able to carve out his place in the tech sector, building relationships with business owners across the Richmond-Metro area. It was here Jason was able to gain a fuller understanding of the needs of users, and how best to find solutions to their problems, not just sell them on expensive products.

After leaving Archer, Jason began taking on customers of his own. Focusing less on serving enterprise networks, and more on bringing that quality of service and security to the home user.
